Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Just reach out! You can fill out the contact form, email, text, or call to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. That first conversation helps us connect, answer your questions, feel whether therapy together feels like the right next step. If after that call it feels like a good fit to both of us, we will schedule an intake session.

What can I expect from sessions with you?

Therapy with me is relational, trauma-informed, and tailored to you and your unique needs. I use a blend of evidence‑based approaches and compassionate curiosity to help you deepen self‑understanding, unravel old patterns, and grow in confidence and resilience. Some clients describe our work as relatable, practical, and supportive, exploring what’s underneath what they’re feeling and discovering what feels genuine and possible for their lives.

How are sessions structured and how long are they?

Most therapy sessions are 50 minutes and usually happen weekly or every other week (or a rhythm that feels right for you). We’ll talk about your goals and comfort level and shape the work together. There’s no single “right” way to do therapy. We will work collaboratively to determine a frequency that best fits your needs and schedule.

Do you offer virtual and in-person sessions?

Yes! I offer in-person therapy from my office in Lakewood, Colorado, as well as virtual sessions for individuals ages 16+ living anywhere in Colorado or Michigan.

Teletherapy can be a great option if in-person sessions aren’t accessible due to distance, health issues, or schedule constraints. Some clients also simply prefer the comfort and flexibility of meeting from home. Online therapy isn’t the right fit for everyone, and we will work together to determine what works best for your needs and goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens, and sometimes, there may be a need for you to reschedule or cancel your session. If you are unable to make it to your appointment for any reason and you need to reschedule, please reach out via phone or email as soon as possible. To avoid late cancellation charges, please provide at least 24-hours notice or more when canceling or rescheduling. No-shows or sessions canceled or changed within 24 hours or less of the scheduled time for any reason may result in being charged the full rate for that session. For sessions scheduled on a Monday, please make arrangements by the Friday before to avoid late-cancellation charges.

What are your fees and payment options?

Sessions are $160 per 50-minute session. Payment is due at the time of session via cash, check, debit card, credit card, HSA, or FSA. Fee adjustments may occur periodically as my practice grows and needs shift. Please reach out with any questions.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Fees are determined based on the therapist’s experience, training, and the needs of the practice. While fees may change periodically, clients will be given advance notice regarding any increases in rates. Fee adjustments are not made retroactively and may differ based on when a client begins therapy or their financial need at the time of intake. If your financial circumstances change, please don’t hesitate to bring that into the conversation.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
